So, I've been out of the printer loop for a while. Images Product Check Price Canon CLI-8 4-Color Multipack Ink Tanks Now!! I highly recommend you avoid purchasing a printer that needs these cartridges or go the off-brand route and buy some really cheap ones! I bought some cheap imitation ones and they very smartly made the ink sponge half as small as possible and the half with the sensor as big as possible so you don't waste that last bit of ink. Well, the ink will be "gone" first in the half with the sensor, even if the other half is still completely full of ink! This is called planned obosolesence and a rather sneaky way to accelerate your next purchase. The cartridge has two halves, one with ink and the sensor, the other with an ink sponge and the part that actually feeds the printer. I've gone through several batches of these and rarely if ever print! The design of the chip and sensor are also designed to show empty as soon as possible. I swear that the ink just evaporates from the cartridge without you printing a page in about 3 months. The thing is that these cartridges seem designed to go empty as soon as possible. This will happen even if you print sparingly or in B&W primarily. These ink cartridges run out really, really fast and will cost you an arm and a leg.
